Gilligan's was started in 2009 after the economy took a nose dive and I was laid off from my job in the oilfield.
Frustrated with very few job prospects and our savings account quickly dwindling, my wife and I knew we had to do something drastic or lose everything.
After many sleepless nights, we decided we would take a chance and introduce Central Texas to the flameworking community.
Rather than trying to compete with the other companies in town who sell inferior products because it is cheaper, we decided to promote only high quality products featuring American made glass and the artists' who create it.
We knew our prices would be a bit higher but, we thought people would appreciate what we were trying to do. And they did!
In less than 3 years we have gone from a 600 sq ft store with an embarrassing amout of inventory, to over 3400 sq ft packed with products from the top names in the industry.
By refusing to compromise quality for price we have built a solid reputation as a premier destination for the smoking connoisseur .
